SOCCER – 2018
When a team loses 8 starters to graduation in the spring, the expectations for the soccer team in the fall may be pretty low. It is very hard to replace all the talent that went on to high school after last year, but this year’s team did a great job of showing that the future of Peace soccer is bright. Seventeen fifth through eighth graders (most with little experience on the soccer field) put on the cleats and stepped into the 2018 season.
This year’s team finished with a 3 – 5 – 2 record. While the losing record may seem like a sign of a bad season, it wasn’t at all. The Blue Knights had only 2 eighth graders on their team and played against a number of schools with many more experienced players. They worked really hard, and they improved with every game they played. The 15 “underclassmen” got a ton of experience that will serve our program well in the future. They brought home a second place trophy from the WALL Cup and competed very well against bigger schools at the Trinity Invitational the next weekend. Way to go Blue Knights.
